A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Darina Kopčok is a freelance food photographer based in Vancouver, Canada. Her work has appeared in a variety of online and print publications such as The Globe & Mail, Vancouver Magazine, and Montecristo.
Darina has a Master’s of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing and studied photography at Langara College, with an emphasis on food, still life, and portrait photography. She draws heavily on her fine art training to create evocative images with a distinct sense of mood and place, finding inspiration in a variety of sources, from the textures of nature to the light in the paintings of the Old Masters.
Her work includes projects for recognizable brands such as Hardbite Chips, Quesava Foods, and Wild Coast Fruit, as well as editorial work for The Dudson Group in the UK. Recently, Darina has been recognized in The List, as one of the top five food photographers on Photoshelter.
Darina teaches food photography at Vancouver Institute of Media Arts and has been a contributing writer to PRO EDU and Digital Photography School. She blogs about food photography at www.gastrostoria.com.
